Beginner Fiddleheads Semester with Eliza Goodell

Join Touring Group alum Eliza Goodell for a series of beginner-friendly fiddle lessons this Spring in Burlington!

This is a family friendly fiddle-learning program where both young and older generations are welcome to join together in the learning fun. This program is open to all ages (guardians and children attending together is very welcome!). The music taught in this class will be from the Quebecois, Scandinavian, and Old Time traditions. The pace will be adjusted to meet the needs of the students. Starting with the ability to play at least two simple tunes is highly recommended in order to get the most out of this class.

Dates: February 22, March 1 & 22, 29, April 12

Time: Sundays, 11-12

Location: Vermont Folklife Offices, 74 Main Street, Burlington, VT.

Ages: All ages welcome!

Cost: $195. This registration fee pays for entire series

About the Instructor: Eliza Goodell grew up in Newbury, VT. She began playing French horn in middle school and took up the fiddle in high school. She has played in classical and folk settings across Vermont and New England, and traveled with Young Tradition Vermont to Cape Breton, Scotland, and Japan. Eliza graduated from Oberlin College, where she studied Geology with a minor in Music. She now works at Vermont State University as a scientist studying Arctic environments.
