The Touring Group is an ensemble of talented teenage musicians from Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine, and Quebec, led this year by Ethan Tischler and Alex Kehler, who will be touring Sweden this April.
Join them for a performance hosted by the North Star Community Hall on Saturday, February 14th, at 7:00pm. Suggested donation of $20 at the door. Proceeds go to supporting the group’s performance tour of Sweden!
A program of Vermont Folklife, the Touring Group nurtures youth involvement in traditional music, providing opportunities to learn from and be inspired by tradition bearers, to build strong connections with their peers, and to perform engaging repertoire for communities in Vermont and beyond. This year's Touring Group performances feature an exciting and diverse program showcasing the traditional musical influences of Scandinavia, as well music rooted in Québec and greater New England. Enjoy energetic reels that will have folks dancing in their seats, many-layered arrangements of fiddle harmonies, and several songs. To learn more about this group please visit our website. To hear the group in action here, we invite you to check out our YouTube playlist or find a show near you!
