I remember being at the gay Pride and some of the women were afraid of having their pictures taken. We noticed a lot of cameras and stuff around. I remember a couple of the gals, oh, we could get fired from work. And it's true. That was kind of what the times were like back then. If they had seen a picture of you in the newspaper, it was possible that you could have been fired from your job. I was in a band with a bunch of women and I believe we played upstairs Nectars, which was also the same area that the Women's Center was in. That was my first all girl band.
