COVID-19 Safety
The Vermont Folklife Center stresses that all activities related to the Listening in Place project need to fall within the CDC recommended guidelines for safety in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In-person interviews should only be conducted with the members of your own household with whom you are self-isolating!
When interviewing make sure to maintain a safe distance from other people and follow these precautions:
Wash your hands before you start—and don’t touch your face.
The person whose phone is being used to record should be the only person to touch/operate the phone.
Maintain a safe distance. If the person you’d like to interview is ill, wait until they’ve recovered or, if they’re up for it, interview them remotely using a phone call recording app (iOS | Android), Google Voice or a video conference platform like Zoom or Google Hangouts.
Disinfect the phone after concluding the interview.
Wash your hands.
