Stories from Vermont Folklife’s Archive, a Listening Party at the Groton Library

  • Groton Public Library 1304 Scott Highway Groton, VT, 05046 United States (map)

Join us for a Listening Party hosted with our friends at the Groton Library!

Vermont Folklife "Listening Parties" bring people together to share the experience of listening deeply. A bit like a DJ set of the spoken word, we share voices, music, and sounds of the world around us drawn from the Archive at Vermont Folklife.

Be immersed in sound and story as we hear about maple sugaring with horses, a fiddle tune at a Franco-American music jam, the strains of a Burmese lullaby, or even voices from the Groton Library's own oral history collections.

We'll listen together and then attendees are invited to ask questions and reflect on what they’ve heard. Listening parties offer an opportunity to explore our community, history, and environment through sound.

Come and listen with us on November 8!

This event is free, and open to the public. RSVPs appreciated:
